The journey will be led by renowned Egyptologist and researcher Mohamed Ibrahimwhose decades of research and unique perspective have inspired travelers from around the world. He will be joined by expert Egyptologist and guide Ahmed Nady, whose knowledge and passion for ancient Egypt add tremendous value throughout the journey. Private Visit to the Osiris Shaft

(Day one of main tour)

  • Osiris Shaft is one of the most mysterious and restricted sites on the Giza Plateau. It is a deep multi-level underground structure linked to ancient rituals of Osiris, the god of the afterlife. Because of its depth and limited access, visiting the Osiris Shaft is extremely rare and considered a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
  • Important Note: If you suffer from heart problems, heart attack, high blood pressure, or claustrophobia (fear of deep or enclosed spaces), this visit is not suitable for you.
  • This visit is a private access to the Osiris Shaft at Giza Plateau, for a limited number of people. It will be for 2 hours, from 11 AM to 1 PM on January 19th, 2027.
  • To join this visit you need to arrive one night early and book your own lodging for the night of Jan. 18th. Saba Tours can help if you need assistance with this.
  • This visit will happen if we have 10-15 people, if we have less than 10 people we will have to cancel the visit.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 (Tuesday, Jan. 19)

Arrival and Welcome Dinner

– Arrive at Cairo airport

– Saba Tour’s assistant will meet you holding a sign with the Saba logo. They will assist you with the visa and luggage, and escort you to Saba’s van for your transfer to the hotel for check-in. 

– 6:00 PM Meeting: Welcome dinner and orientation at the hotel!

– Overnight at the hotel

Day 2 (Wednesday, Jan. 20)

Saqqara

– Breakfast at 6:30 AM onward 

– Drive to Saqqara at 8:00 AM 

– Visit Titi Pyramid, famous for containing the earliest Pyramid Texts, sacred inscriptions carved on its walls to help the king reach the afterlife. These texts are among the oldest religious writings in the world.

– Visit the Serapeum; an underground burial site in Saqqara, where the sacred Apis bulls were buried in massive granite sarcophagi. It dates to the New Kingdom and offers a mysterious and impressive look into ancient Egyptian religious practices.

– Visit Djoser’s Step Pyramid Complex

We’ll enter through the Southern Entrance (public visit) and see deep down into the massive central shaft.

– Visit the Sound Healing Hospital area where the ancient Egyptians used to go for healing energy when they visited the Step Pyramid Complex.

Private visit to the Southern Tomb

The Sourthern Tomb is never offered on tours! It is an extremely rare opportunity to see a deep underground structure that is not open to the public!

Day 3 (Thursday, Jan. 21)

Giza Plateau & Private Visit to Sphinx enclosure & Sphinx Temple

The Great Sphinx of Giza is one of the most iconic monuments in Egypt. One of the most memorable highlights will be your special access visit to the Great Sphinx.

– Visit Valley temple. The Valley Temple of Khafre is located near the Great Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza. It was used for the mummification and purification rituals of the king before burial. 

Private Visit to Sphinx Temple 11 – 12 PM 

– Visit the Giza Plateau 

Walk around the Great Pyramid to visit the ruins of the pyramid temple. See the basalt floor and the tool marks made by ancient advances machines. 

– Optional Camel ride ($20): Enjoy an optional camel ride for a truly authentic desert adventure.

Day 4 (Friday, Jan. 22)

Day 5 (Saturday, Jan. 23)

Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut & Habu Temples

– Breakfast at 6:30 AM onward

– Drive to the West Bank of Luxor at 8:00 AM

– See the Colossi of Memnon

– Visit Hatshepsut Temple, which is a stunning mortuary temple built for Queen Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs of Egypt.

– Visit the Valley of the Kings; one of the most famous archaeological sites in Egypt. It served as the royal burial ground for the pharaohs of the New Kingdom

Optional Visit the Alabaster Factory. An alabaster workshop is a great place to see how traditional Egyptian stone crafts are made. You’ll watch skilled artisans hand-carve beautiful vases, statues, and other items from natural alabaster. It’s also a nice spot to buy unique souvenirs.

– Lunch 

– Drive to Medinet Habu Temple. While many visitors focus on the Valley of the Kings, Medinet Habu is often considered one of Luxor’s hidden treasures.

– Overnight at the hotel

Day 6 (Sunday, Jan. 24)

Dendera & Abydos

– Early Breakfast at 6:30 AM 

– Drive to Hathor’s Temple of Dendera at 7:15 AM (2 hr drive)

Hathor Temple is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. It is dedicated to the goddess Hathor, the goddess of love, beauty, and music. The temple features stunning astronomical ceilings, colourful reliefs, and the famous zodiac of Dendera.

– Drive to Abydos (2 hr drive)

– Lunch at delicious local house 

– Visit Abydos Temple of Seti I, one of the most remarkable monuments of ancient Egypt. Built by Pharaoh Seti I and completed by his son Ramses II, it is dedicated to several deities, including Osiris, the god of the afterlife. The temple is renowned for its exquisite reliefs and vibrant colours, which are among the best-preserved in Egypt. It also houses the famous “Abydos King List,” an invaluable record of Egypt’s royal lineage.

Private Visit to Osirion Temple 3:00 – 5:00 PM 

– Drive back to Luxor (4 hr drive)

Day 7 (Monday, Jan. 25)

Esna Khnum Temple and Luxor ‘Temple of Man’

– Optional hot air ballon $150 A hot air balloon ride over Luxor is an unforgettable experience. At sunrise, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Nile, the Valley of the Kings, temples, and the countryside from above. It’s one of the best ways to see the beauty of ancient Thebes from the sky.

– Breakfast at the hotel 6:30 AM onward

– Visit Esna, Temple of Khnum. Especially since recent restorations, Esna preserves some of the most vivid colors on its beautiful pillars that are each completely unique. It also has some of the most incredible astronomical illustration on its ceiling, containing all signs of the zodiac, phases of the moon and ‘star ships’.

– Check in and lunch at the Nile Cruise!

– Visit Luxor Temple at 05:00 PM. Luxor Temple is a magnificent ancient temple located in the heart of the city. It was built mainly by Amenhotep III and Ramses II and was dedicated to the god Amun.

– Optional visit to Luxor local market

– Dinner and overnight at the Nile Cruise

Day 8 (Tuesday, Jan. 26)

Karnak Temple & Sailing

– Breakfast at 6:00AM onward

– Visit Karnak Temple at 8:30 AM. Drive to Karnak temple which is one of the largest temple complexes in the world. It was built over 2,000 years and dedicated mainly to the god Amun.

– Visit the Open-air Museum at Karnak.

Private visit to the chapel of 7 gates and 7 keys.

– Sailing to Edfu

Day 9 (Wednesday, Jan. 27)

Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples

– Breakfast at the Nile Cruise at 6:00 AM onward 

– Visit Edfu Temple of Horus at 7:30 AM 

– Edfu Temple is dedicated to Horus, the falcon god. It is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, with beautiful carvings and impressive architecture from the Ptolemaic period.

– Lunch and presentation at Nile Cruise, while sailing to Kom Ombo 

– Visit Kom Ombo Sobek Temple on foot. This is a unique double temple dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. Iy is also a sound healing hospital.

– Dinner and Overnight at the Nile Cruise, sailing to Aswan

Day 10 (Thursday, Jan. 28)

Philae Island, Unfinished Obelisk & Elephantine Island

– Breakfast at 06:00 AM

– Optional Visit essential oil store at 7:30 AM 

– Take a motorboat to the Isis temple on Philae Island . The Temple of Isis is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved temples in Egypt. 

– Drive to the Aswan Quarry – the source of all the Red Granite that was treasured by the Egyptians. This granite was used for obelisks, statues and even the walls of the King’s Chamber in the Great Pyramid.

– The Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan is the largest known ancient obelisk. It was carved directly into the bedrock but was never completed due to cracks in the stone. The site gives a unique insight into ancient Egyptian stone-cutting techniques and tools.

– Lunch at the Nile Cruise 

– Take the motorboat to Elephantine Island at 3:00 PM. Elephantine Island is a magical and historic gem in Aswan, rich with ancient ruins, Nubian culture, and breathtaking views of the Nile, a place where history and beauty come together in perfect harmony. We will visit Satet temple and Khnum temple. The Ark of the Covenant was once stored beneath these temples.

– Take a motor boat back to the Nile Cruise

– Dinner and overnight at the Nile Cruise

Day 11 (Friday, Jan. 29)

Abu Simbel or Nubian Museum

– Breakfast at the Nile Cruise 

– Check-out from the Nile Cruise 

– Drive to Abu Simbel at 5:00AM (4 hours’ drive). Abu Simbel is one of the most extraordinary monuments of ancient Egypt, built by Ramses II to demonstrate his power and divine status. The Great Temple is famous for its four colossal, seated statues of the king carved directly into the rock.

– Lunch 

– Drive back to Aswan (4 hours’ drive)

– Visit the Nubian Museum. Learn about the Nubian culture and see the original stone circle of Nabta Playa, relocated from the Western Desert.

– Drive to Dahshur at 9:00 AM. Dahshur is an ancient royal necropolis south of Cairo, known for its unique pyramids. It is home to the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, both built by King Sneferu. These pyramids show the early evolution of pyramid construction in ancient Egypt. Visit the Red Pyramid and Bent Pyramid.

– Lunch at an amazing local house 

– Drive to the Grand Egyptian Museum [GEM]; the largest archaeological museum in the world, located near the Pyramids of Giza. One of the most important highlights of the museum is the complete collection of Tutankhamun, displayed together for the first time in history.

Day 14 (Monday, Feb. 01)
